This specimen was lot 2376 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 850 CHF (about US$1,138 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "CHILE Republik, seit 1818. 10 Pesos 1858, Santiago. Vorzüglich. Feine Goldpatina (Extremely fine, Nice gold toning)." This specimen was one of a series struck 1854-67 in Santiago, Chile. An earlier and a later type exist (KM 123 and KM 145), with slightly different designs for the arms and the standing Liberty.
Recorded mintage: 52,000 including an 1858/7 overdate.
