This specimen was lot 23493 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $2,585. The catalog description[1] noted, "George VI Specimen Dollar 1952 SWL, SP67 PCGS, fully brilliant with pristine surfaces, essentially a perfect coin. Very rare and desirable in this deluxe quality. From The Nikita Collection." This type was struck 1948 and 1950-52 and saved. This "short water line" variety (referring to the canoe on the reverse) carries a modest premium.

Recorded mintage: 406,148.

Specification: 23.32 g, 0.800 fine silver, .600 troy oz ASW, designed by T. H. Paget and Emanuel Hahn.
