This specimen was lot 26216 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $305.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Victoria Cent 1895, MS64 Red ICCS, mostly red with a streak of faded color beneath Victoria's chin that runs to the first I in VICTORIA at the legend. From The Nikita Collection." This type was struck 1870-1901 in large quantities and is readily available in grades up to brown Uncirculated. The 1895 is priced about double the commonest date (1900-H) but is otherwise ordinary.
