Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel 1571 thaler Dav-9060
This specimen was lot 5013 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €1,500 (about US$1,938 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM, Julius, 1568-1589. Reichstaler 1571, Goslar. Lichttaler. Sehr attraktives Exemplar mit hübscher Patina, fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Winter 35, Düsseldorf 1978, Nr. 570. (duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Julius, 1568-89, "light" thaler of 1571, Goslar mint. Very attractive example with handsome patina, about extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1570-76. It is not rare but it is on the expensive side.
