This specimen was lot 31 in Künker sale 400 (Berlin, February 2024), where it sold for €26,000 (about US$33,730 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-CALENBERG, Georg, 1636-1641. Löser zu 1 1/2 Reichstalern 1634, Goslar oder Zellerfeld, auf die brüderliche Eintracht, geprägt vor seinem Regierungsantritt. Ohne Wertpunze. Münzmeister Henning Schlüter. Geharnischtes Hüftbild r. mit Kommandostab und Schwert//Die personifizierte Eintracht mit Pfeilbündel und mahnend erhobener Rechten steht v. v. umher stehen die vier gekrönten und geharnischten herzoglichen Brüder, oben strahlender Name Jehovas. Von großer Seltenheit. Dunkle Patina, feiner Prägeglanz, vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. 373, Frankfurt/Main 2002, Nr. 2594. Extremely rare, dark toning, well struck, extremely fine.)"
This is an early issue of this state, which outlasted its rival Brunswick-Luneburg-Celle to become the electorate of Hannover in 1698.
