This specimen was lot 1275 in Jean Elsen sale 163 (Brussels, November 2025), where it sold for €240 (about US$277 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"VLAANDEREN, Graafschap, Brugge in opstand tegen Philips II (1583-1584), biljoen schelling (6 stuiver), 1583. Vz/ Klimmende leeuw l. Kz/ Leeuwenschild op een gebladerd kruis. Zeer zeldzaam. Stukken uit de rand. (county of Flanders, Bruges in revolt against Philip II, 1583-84, billon schilling or six stuivers of 1583. Obverse: lion rampant left; reverse: lion on shield over a leafy cross. Very rare, chips in the edge, Very Fine.)

Bruges, the capital of Flanders, joined most of the Netherlands in revolt against Philip II in 1583. Bruges surrendered to Alexander Farnese in May 1584.
