This specimen was lot 1588 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $235. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH WEST AFRICA: George VI, 1937-1952, 1/10 penny, 1946-KN, population 3/3, PCGS graded Specimen 64." British West Africa comprised Gambia, Sierra Leone, Gold Coast (now Ghana) and Nigeria. The union broke up in the late fifties as the parts were granted independence. Copper-nickel one-tenth pennies were issued for the region starting in 1907. This type was issued 1938-1947. This is a common date.

Recorded mintage: 1,152,000 plus specimens.
