The British Caribbean Territories was a union of nations in the Caribbean, all formerly possessions of Great Britain. In 1950 they formed a currency board to provide member countries with a unified currency to replace the British pound. Member states were Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, British Guiana, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, St. Kitts & Nevis, Antigua, Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The union dissolved in 1965 but some member states reformed as the East Caribbean States. This specimen was lot 22098 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $188.
