The British Caribbean Territories was a union of nations in the Caribbean, all formerly possessions of Great Britain. In 1950 they formed a currency board to provide member countries with a unified currency to replace the British pound. Member states were Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, British Guiana, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, St. Kitts & Nevis, Antigua, Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The union dissolved in 1965 but some member states reformed as the East Caribbean States. This type was struck 1955-65 and all the dates are common altho the proofs are scarce.
Recorded mintage: 1,500,000 plus 20 proofs.
