This specimen was lot 34689 in Heritage sale 3094 (Chicago, August 2021), where it sold for $1,980. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Bremen. Free City Taler MDCCXXIII (1723) MS62 NGC, A highly appealing type representative that maintains a bright gleam throughout the fields, embracing pleasingly sharp designs. The whole of the surface is veiled a fine silver patina." This one year type is scarce. Bremen, a port on the North Sea, was not a prolific issuer of thalers like Hamburg or Lubeck.
