This specimen was part of lot 75220 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), which sold for $89. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRAZIL. Septet of Bi-Metallic Reais (7 Pieces), 2002-25. All NGC Certified. Composed of stainless steel centers within bronzed plate steel rings. Largely commemoratives celebrating numismatic and political anniversaries, with grades ranging from NGC MS-64 to MS-67." The reform of 1994 finally stuck after twenty years of hyperinflation. At present (August 2026), US$1 = 5.2 reais. This circulating commemorative honors the 40th anniversary of the central bank. Similar commemoratives were issued for the 50th anniversary and the 60th anniversary.

Recorded mintage: 40,000,000 plus 43,776,000 of KM 652a.

Specification: 7 g, bimetallic (stainless steel center in bronze plated steel ring), 27 mm diameter, segmented reeded edge.
