This is a copper-nickel hundred réis of the United States of Brazil. It is much scarcer in nice condition than the SCWC indicates, even tho the type was struck 1889 and 1893-1900. The 100 réis gradually shrank (KM 503, KM 518, KM 527, KM 536 and KM 544) until its abolition in 1942 with the reform of the coinage in that year.

Specification: 9.8 g, copper-nickel, 27.1 mm diameter.
