The Rio mint struck this type 1818-22 in reasonable numbers such that it is not rare but the Bahia mint product is rare. The Bahia product is distinguished by the crosses flanking the date instead of the usual florettes.

Recorded mintage: 49,000 plus 1,864 from Bahia.

Specification: 8.07 g, 0.917 fine gold, .237 troy oz AGW.
