Brabant 1605(h) 1/4 real
This specimen was lot 610 in Jean Elsen sale 157 (Brussels, December 2023), where it sold for €130 (about US$168 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRABANT, Duché, Albert et Isabelle (1598-1621), AR quart de réal, 1605, Anvers. D/ Ecu couronné, entouré du collier de la Toison d'or. R/ Briquet couronné, orné du bijou de la Toison d'or, accosté de la date. Rare. Flan court. Belle patine. Très Beau. (duchy of Brabant, Albert and Isabella, 1598-1621, silver quarter real of 1605, Antwerp mint. Obverse: crowned arms, Order of the Golden Fleece around; reverse: crowned firesteel with the jewel of the Golden Fleece, dividing the date. Rare, tight flan, nice patina, Very Fine.)"
This type was struck at Antwerp 1604-05 and at Bruges 1603-06 and 1611.
