This mezzo bolognino was struck 1724-30 at Bologna during the reign of Benedict XIII (1724-30). The mezzo bolognino was one twenty-fourth of a giulio. This denomination was struck with little change 1709-56. When production resumed in 1777, the bolognino was made equal to the baiocco used elsewhere in the Papal States, i.e., one tenth of a giulio.
