Künker sale 294, lot 3403

This specimen was lot 3403 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €1,900 (about US$2,561 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Rudolf II. 1576-1612. Dukat 1584, Prag. Münzmeister Lazar und Susanna Ercker. GOLD. Leicht gewellt, attraktives, fast vorzügliches Exemplar. (Holy Roman Empire, Rudolf II, 1576-1612, ducat of 1584, Prague mint. Lightly bent, attractive, about extremely fine example.)"

Friedberg lists this type for 1583-94 and notes that Vienna struck this type as well (see Fr-85).
