Sincona sale 33, lot 3082

This specimen was lot 3082 in Sincona sale 33 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 600 CHF (about US$712 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Maximilian II. 1564-1576 Taler 1576. Kuttenberg. Sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Maximilian II, 1564-76, thaler of 1576, Kuttenberg mint. Very fine.)"

Davenport lists this type for 1573-77. The Kuttenberg or Kutná Hora mint in Bohemia was an important producer of coin until it was wrecked during the Thirty Years War.
