This specimen was lot 2346 in Goldberg sale 98 (Los Angeles, June 2017), where it sold for $1,704. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bhutan. 10,000 Ngultrums, 1996. National emblem within circle. Reverse: Snow leopard. Mintage 500 struck. NGC graded Proof 68 Ultra Cameo. WINGS." Wildlife themed NCLT's are a popular way for impoverished governments to show support for the environment without actually having to do anything to preserve it.
