This specimen was lot 2665 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"SWITZERLAND, Bern, Stadt und Kanton, 5 Batzen 1808. FDC. Prachtexemplar. (city and canton of Bern, five batzen of 1808. Uncirculated, Most attractive piece.)"
Forty batzen made a thaler, so five batzen are one-eighth of a thaler. This type was struck 1808, 1810-11, 1818; the 1811 is the key date. The last Bernese coin is a rappen dated 1836.
