This type was struck at the Brussels mint 1941-43 and 1947 for Belgium while under Nazi occupation. A similar type (KM 128) was struck with obverse legend "BELGIE - BELGIQUE". King Leopold remained in Belgium during the war and his activities led to accusations of collaboration, whereupon he abdicated in 1950. This coin was demonetized in 1952.

Recorded mintage: 25,000,000 of KM 127 plus 42,000,000 of KM 128.
