This specimen was lot 828 in Jean Elsen sale 141 (Brussels, June 2019), where it sold for €1,100 (about US$1,458 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Léopold Ier (1831-1865), Cu 1 centime, 1832. Bogaert 24B1. Rare Petites taches. Fleur de Coin. (kingdom of Belgium, Leopold I, 1831-65, copper one centime of 1832. Rare, small nicks, Uncirculated.)"
Belgium obtained her independence from the Netherlands in 1830. This type was struck 1832-63 in numerous varieties. This subtype (KM 1.1), with wide rims, was produced 1832-35.
