Bahamas 2014 cent

This specimen is one of a type struck at Winnipeg for the Bahamas 2014-15. In 2009, the weight was reduced to 1.75 g from 2.5 g. In 2014, it was converted from copper-plated zinc to copper plated steel, rendering the coin magnetic. The starfish reverse makes this coin a popular souvenir for sunburned tourists.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 1.7 g, copper plated steel, 17 mm diameter, plain edge.
