The first specimen was lot 21031 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $2,350. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Awadh. Ashrafi, Year 5 AH 1262 (ca. 1845). Lukhnow. Amjad Ali Shah (1842-47). NGC MS-62. Obverse depicts a parasol above fish and crown flanked by swords; Reverse: Script. A nearly choice MINT STATE example with bright surfaces and considerable luster. Sharply struck, the piece remains in a remarkable state of preservation." The second specimen was lot 31774 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $2,100. The catalog description[2] noted, "Awadh. Amjad Ali Shah gold Ashrafi (Mohur) AH 1262 Year 5 (1845) MS64 NGC, Lucknow mint. Slightly off-center, though this is wholly made up for by alluring golden luster, compounded with a great intensity of detail rendered by an exacting strike. A piece in a strong state of preservation, with a high assigned grade for the issue!" This type is listed for AH 1258-1263.
