Sincona sale 90, lot 1676

This specimen was lot 1676 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$537 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR / ÖSTERREICH, Franz Joseph I. 1848-1916. 20 Kronen 1905, Wien. Gutes sehr schön. Kleiner Randfehler. (empire of Austria-Hungary, Francis Joseph I, 1848-1916, twenty corona of 1905, Vienna mint. Good very fine, Minor edge flaw.)"

This type of 1892-1905 represents the final coinage reform of the Hapsburg regime before its collapse during World War One. Most dates are common, including this one.
