This specimen was lot 1393 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €75,000 (about US$106,200 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE-ÖSTERREICH · RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Ferdinand III., 1625-1637-1657. 10 Dukaten 1644, Graz. Geprägt mit den Stempeln des Reichstalers. + FERDINANDVS · III : D : G : ROM : IMP : S : A : G : H : BO : REX Geharnischtes Brustbild r. mit Lorbeerkranz, umgelegtem Mantel und der Kette des Ordens vom Goldenen Vlies//+ ARCHI + AVST + DVX + - + BVRG + STYRIÆ + Ec + Gekröntes, ovales und verziertes, mehrfeldiges Wappen, umher die Kette des Ordens vom Goldenen Vlies, darüber die Jahreszahl. GOLD. Von größter Seltenheit. Sehr attraktives Exemplar mit feiner Goldtönung. Min. Bearbeitungsspuren am Rand, winz. Kratzer, vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand III, 1637-57, ten ducats of 1644, Graz mint, struck with thaler dies. Obverse: laureate and mantled bust right wearing the Order chain, below, a stork privy mark; reverse: reverse: Extremely rare, attractive example with handsome gold patina, a little tooling on the edge, hairlines, extremely fine.)"
This large piece, struck 1638, 1641, 1644, 1648 and 1650 using thaler dies, was doubtless made for presentation.
