The second specimen was part of lot 22105 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), which sold for $253. The catalog description[1] noted, "Quartet of Uncirculated Commemorative Florins: (2) 1927 Parliament; 1951 Jubilee; and 1954 Royal Visit, all nice UNC." Australia maintained the sterling silver standard until 1945, years after Great Britain had debased her coins to 0.500 fine. This issue, honoring a Royal Visit, was extensively saved and is today slightly more available than the regular issue (KM 54).
Recorded mintage: 4,000,000 plus proofs plus 15,366,000 of the regular issue (KM-54).
