Armenia AH 1115 abbasi
This specimen was lot 455 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $180. The catalog description[1] noted, "ARMENIA: Ahmad III, 1703-1730, AR abbasi (16 para), Revan (Yerevan), AH1115, type B, decent strike with full mint & date; about 5% flat strike, VF, R, ex Kenneth A. Bovenkamp Collection." Armenia, in the early modern period, had the misfortune to lie at the intersection of Iran, Turkey and Russia and received invasion and occupation from all three powers. The Ottomans occupied Yerevan in 1703 and issued a shahi (KM 15), double shahi (KM 16) and an abbasi (KM 17, shown here), all scarce to rare.
