This specimen features a version of Oudiné's portrait of liberty used on the ten centavos from 1881 to 1942, but struck in silver 1881-83 only. It is accompanied by a similar twenty centavos, fifty centavos and one peso coins. The last ten centavos piece was struck in 1959. The entire 1883 series is very common except for the peso coin, of which only 98,000 were produced, but are hard to find nice.

Recorded mintage: 778,000.

Specification: 2.5 g, 0.900 fine silver.
