This specimen was lot 5137 in Sincona sale 68 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 700 CHF (about US$922 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SWITZERLAND | Appenzell Ausserrhoden | misc, Halbbatzen 1809, Bern. FDC. (canton of Appenzell, Outer Rhoden, half batzen of 1809, Bern mint. Uncirculated.)"
This type was also struck 1808 and 1816 and is fairly available in circulated condition. Ten rappen made a batzen and forty batzen made a thaler.
