This specimen was lot 2428 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "TIMURID: Shahrukh, 1405-1447, AR tanka, Nimruz, AH831, scarce mint, VF." Album notes that this type was struck at Tabriz, Herat, Kashan, Qazwin and Sultaniya, as well as Nimruz. Nimruz is now in the southwest corner of Afghanistan which is where we will file this. Timur's empire stretched from Syria to Delhi but the area ruled by Shahrukh was much smaller. The Timurids lost Iran entirely after his death.
