Sincona sale 18, lot 3263

This specimen was lot 3263 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it sold for CHF 375 (about US$494 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Halbbatzen 1815. Fast FDC/FDC. (canton of Aargau, half batzen of 1815, choice uncirculated.)"

Ten batzen made a frank and four franken made a thaler. This type is listed for 1807-11 and 1815. This specimen realized double the catalog value.
