Honduras 1846-T G real
This specimen was lot 1095 in Sedwick sale 25 (Winter Park, FL, May 2019), where it sold for $595. The catalog description[1] noted, "Tegucigalpa, Honduras, low silver 1 real (provisional), 1846G, rare, NGC VF details / environmental damage. Very dark and typically crude, with areas of surface corrosion that could be original from striking, despite what the label says. NGC #4724563-003." One reales were struck intermittently using good silver at Tegucigalpa, Honduras, during 1825-32. Various types of debased silver were issued until 1854. All are scarce and rare in nice condition. This particular version was struck 1845-46 and 1849. The 1845 is the only somewhat available date.
