Guatemala 1915 25 centavos

This twenty-five centavos was issued as a temporary expedient during a currency crisis when a number of Guatemalan banks collapsed. The minting of silver had ceased before 1900. In 1926, the currency was reformed and the quetzal introduced to replace the peso. The government abolished the private issue of banknotes. This type is scarce in nice condition.
