Norway 1900 25 ore

from the Stack's Bowers 2018 Collector's Choice sale, lot 71363

This specimen was lot 71363 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $192. The catalog description^[1] noted, "NORWAY. 25 Ore, 1900. NGC MS-63. Sharply struck, brilliant and attractive." This type, struck 1896-1904, is fairly common tho less so than KM 373, which was struck 1909-19 after independence.

Recorded mintage: 400,000, a better date.

Specification: 2.42 g, .600 fine silver, 17 mm diameter.
