Jean Elsen sale 151, lot 1033

This specimen was lot 1033 in Jean Elsen sale 151 (Brussels, June 2022), where it sold for €2,000 (about US$2,499 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRABANT, Duché, Les Etats de Brabant (1584-1585), AR 5 sols Robustus, 1585, Anvers. D/ CONFORTARE ET ESTO ROBVSTVS Croix fleuronnée cantonnée des écus de Louvain, Anvers, Bruxelles et Bois-le-Duc. R/ MONETA DVCATVS BRABANTIAE 1585 Ecu de Brabant couronné, sur une croix fleuronnée. Extrêmement rare Eclat du flan sur la tranche. presque Très Beau. (estates of the duchy of Brabant, 1584-85, silver five sols Robustus of 1585, Antwerp mint. Obverse: floriate cross cantonned with the arms of Louvain, Antwerp, Brussels and Bois-le-Duc; reverse: crowed arms of Brabant over a floriate cross. Extremely rare, rim bump, about Very Fine.)"
