Sincona sale 54, lot 1106

This specimen was lot 1106 in Sincona sale 54 (Zurich, May 2019), where it sold for 1,600 CHF (about US$1,904 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Franz Joseph I. 1848-1916. 20 Kronen 1916, Wien. Mit Bindeschild. Gutes vorzüglich. Minimal justiert. (empire of Austria, Francis Joseph I, 1848-1916, Good extremely fine, Minor adjustment marks.)"

This type was struck 1909-16. 1910 is the only common date. It varies from the prior Fr-509 by deleting the order chain around the shield on the reverse.

Recorded mintage: 71,763 (including KM 2818).

Specification: 6.78 g, .900 fine gold, this specimen 6.77 g.
