This specimen was issued by the Mexico City mint to honor the 500th anniversary of the founding of the town of Colima. Like many recent issues, it remains unlisted in the SCWC. The oblong patch on the obverse contains microengraving, an anticounterfeiting device. The twenty pesos was reduced from 15.95 g, 32 mm diameter to 12.67 g, 30 mm diameter, in 2019.

Specification: 12.67 g, nickel brass center in an aluminum bronze ring, 30 mm diameter, interrupted reeded edge.
