In 1966, Australia abandoned the sterling coinage she had used since the days of Captain Cook and adopted the decimal dollar and cent. This bust of the queen was used 1985-98. This date is common, tho none were struck for circulation 1986-93 or 1995.

Recorded mintage: 16,730,000 plus 32,000 proofs.

Specification: 11.31 g, copper-nickel, 28.65 mm diameter.
