Sincona sale 9, lot 3776

This specimen was lot 3776 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$822 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Hamburg, Stadt Dukat 1869. Fast FDC. (Germany, City of Hamburg, ducat of 1869, choice uncirculated.)"

This type is listed for 1854-67 and is fairly common for a German ducat of the period.

Recorded mintage: 25,000.

Specification: 3.5 g, .979 fine gold, this specimen 3,49 g.
