Sincona sale 31, lot 6

This specimen was lot 6 in Sincona sale 31 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 425 CHF (about US$505 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "OTTOMAN TUNIS | Selim II (974-982ah1566-1574ce) nasri 977ah (1569ce) AR RRR cr f-vf." This crude coin is reminiscent of the silver cobs coming out of Mexico and Potosi but weighs 1/28 of a peso.
