This specimen was lot 3554 in Sincona sale 20 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 275 (about US$345 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Kreuzer 1776. Vorzüglich-FDC. (extremely fine to uncirculated.)" This one year type was issued by the bishop of Sitten (Sion in French), now part of the canton of Valais. Valais was not officially a member of the Swiss confederation until 1815.
