Sincona sale 91, lot 3237

This specimen was lot 3237 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, 3 Sols 1564, Genf. Mzz. G. Sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Geneva, three sols of 1564, Geneva mint, mintmark "G". Very fine.)"

This type was struck nearly continuously 1554-94. Numista does not mention the mintmark clearly visible here. One thaler was 96 sols.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 4.0 g, billon, 26 mm diameter, this specimen 3.42 g.
