This specimen was lot 701 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $450. The catalog description[1] noted, "MYSORE: Tipu Sultan, 1782-1799, AE 2 paise (othmani), Patan, AM1225 year 2, elephant right, date on reverse, Persian letter "b" within the flag, PCGS graded VF35." This type was struck at several mints AM 1225-1226. The Mauludi Era (AM) was a calendar invented and used only by Tipu Sultan and it lapsed after his death in battle in 1799.

Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.

Specifications: 21.45-22.81 g, copper.
