This type was struck 1996-2011 but thereafter demonetized. It superseded a copper-nickel fifty øre (KM 418) struck 1974-96. This example was photographed in its original mint capsule.

Recorded mintage: 30,913,000 plus 14,097 proofs.

Specifications: 3.6 g, bronze, 18.5 mm diameter, plain edge.
