New Zealand 2011 10 cents rev DSLR.jpg

This type was struck for circulation in New Zealand 2006-2020. The copper-nickel alloy used since the introduction of decimal coinage in 1967 was dropped in favor of copper plated steel. Coinage, formerly obtained exclusively from the London mint, is divided among that mint and the Canberra mint and Ottawa mint (shown here). Some dates, such as 2008, were struck only for collector sets.

Recorded mintage: 20,400,000.

Specification: 3.3 g, copper plated steel, 20 mm diameter, plain edge.

Catalog reference: KM 117a.
