New Zealand 1987 10 cents rev DSLR.jpg

This type was struck for circulation in New Zealand 1986-98, with a more mature bust of the queen. Coinage, formerly obtained exclusively from the London mint, is divided among that mint and the Canberra mint and Ottawa mint. Some dates, such as 1990-95 and 1998, were struck only for collector sets. It was demonetized in 2006.

Recorded mintage: 21,000,000 plus 10,000 proofs.

Specification: 5.65 g, copper-nickel, 23.62 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by Raphael David Maklouf and Stuart Devlin.

Catalog reference: KM 61.
