The first specimen was lot 1550 in Jean Elsen sale 120 (Brussels, March 2014), where it sold for €190 (about US$312 including buyer's fees. The catalog description[1] noted,
"SUISSE, ZURICH, Ville, AR Taler, 1560, Droit: Lion debout à gauche, tenant un globe crucigère et l'écu de la ville. Revers: Aigle impériale couronnée. Griffe au droit. Très Beau. (Switzerland, city of Zurich, silver thaler of 1560. Obverse: lion rampant to left, bearing orb and shield; reverse: crowned imperial eagle. Scratch on obverse, very fine.)"
The second specimen was lot 5657 in Sincona sale 4 (Zurich, October 2011), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$466 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Zürich Stadt Taler 1560. Nach links aufgerichteter Löwe mit Schild und Reichsapfel. Rv. Gekrönter, nimbierter Doppeladler. Sehr schön. (Switzerland, city of Zurich, thaler of 1560. Obverse: lion rampant to left holding shield and orb; reverse: crowned, nimbate double headed eagle. Very fine.)"
