Heritage sale 3024, lot 23812
from Heritage Auction Galleries

This specimen was lot 23812 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $3,525. The catalog description[2] noted, "Louis XIIII Ecu 1708-T, Nantes, MS63 PCGS, fully lustrous and appealing with only faint adjustment marks. Rare grade for this popular series." This specimen obtained an exceptional price because the obverse bust differs from that used at the other mints, granting it a separate catalog number in Droulers and in Davenport.

Recorded mintage: 194,651[1].

Specification: 27.45 g, 0.917 fine silver, 39-41 mm diameter, edge lettered DOMINE SALVVM FAC REGEM, designed by Joseph Roëttiers.

Catalog reference: KM 360.18, Dav-1322, Dr/4 № 521A, Dr/2 № 448A.
