The specimen shown is an example of a type struck in Berlin for Germany. Germany began minting euros in 2002. The Berlin Wall formerly passed through the Brandenberg Gate, which also appears on the German twenty cent. To this writer's knowledge, Germany is the only country in Europe still operating branch mints; A - Berlin; D - Munich; F - Stuttgart; G - Karlsruhe and J - Hamburg.

Recorded mintage: 337,600,000 plus 130,000 proofs.
