Isle of Man 2013 5 angel
This specimen was lot 32550 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2024), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "ISLE OF MAN. 5 Angel, 2013. Surrey (Pobjoy) Mint. Elizabeth II. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. An appealing and artful 5 Ounce Silver issue, this tremendous piece delivers exceptional eye appeal, with brilliant cameo contrast." The Isle of Man lies in the Irish Sea between Britain and Ireland and remains a British dependency. It is famous for motorcycle racing and tailless cats. The last issue of this denomination listed in the SCWC is KM 1326 of 1995, also in silver. The Pobjoy mint closed in 2023 after 53 years in business.
